Hulloh intarnetz!!!

My phone line has been down since last week and only got back earlier this evening. Needless to say--but you know I'm going to say it anyway-- when I got back on(line) I had a backlog of feeds and email to go through, which led me to some spam-worthy stuff. So excuse me while I share what I learned these past few hours.

Team Philippines won this year's "The Great Singapore Shopping Challenge". This is our third year in a row. Yay Philippines for being so kuripot!

A recent fave over at xkcd: Fields Arranged by Purity (the alt text is FTW).

Harry Potter prequel that JK Rowling wrote for charity (Go to authors > JK Rowling). There are a bunch of other authors there as well, so do check it out.

And finally, a couple of places I want to visit in the near future:
☺ Konbini Store (for the chocolates!!!)
☺ Game Crab Boardgame Cafe (in fairness, malapit lang :D)

...Well, this isn't quite what it looked like, but close enough. Aida insisted that I looked like Rinoa [cue yech-ing here] with short hair. There were a bunch of oriental (Korean? Chinese? Vietnamese? I can't quite tell the difference) folk roaming the halls, aside from the usual--and noisy--students. Also, a picture of Melchor Hall (UP Diliman College of Engineering) from the 70s in the Architecture section, by Ceasar C-something. It was fun, but I'm not quite sure the heat and traffic was worth it. Also, no cameras were allowed. Pooh.

We were able to sneak this one in though:

Sorry for the blur. The lobbyist didn't know how to focus, even if the camera was already in auto-mode :/

After hearing about Banapple from a recent post at ClickTheCity, Aida and I knew that we should have one of our Friday brunches there. We couldn't possilbly allow otherwise. But it wasn't supposed to be this Friday. Oh no. Not when neither one of us could provide transpo and Aida had a birthday lunch to attend to at 1130 am.

But it was chaos over at UP College of Home Ec's "The Tea Room", and none of the pastry/coffee shops along Katipunan nearer to UP were appealing to us that morning, so we decided oh, what the heck, and chipped in for a taxi to go to Banapple.

This is for all my livejournal contacts who don't give a damn about my multiply account:

And because I suck, I'll be letting the pictures (oh alright, the captions as well) speak for themselves.
1st-Apr-2007 11:38 pm - My Friday Adventure
:D
Because it'll be my first time to take summer classes, I'm making the most of what little vacation I have. That said, this is what happened during the last day of my finals, a.k.a. last Friday:

9am-12nn: ChE 131 finals [blurb]

12-1pm: Lunch at eng'g caf, a.k.a., information you didn't really need to know.

1-3pm: Gel & I get lost while trying to make our way to Makati (see gel? inaamin ko na). A rather embarassing experience.

3-4ish pm: We spot manga kissa 10! Gawd, pinahirapan pa kami ng directions ng sugoi stuff. There are plenty of much simpler ways to get here, but I could have easily done with key phrases like, "Behind Makati Cinema Square," "Across Don Bosco Church," or "Chino Roces intersection Arnaiz" and the likes.
We also find little tokyo, which is not all that its cracked up to be. T'was okay, but I think I got my hopes way up. Good thing it was right across MCS, so we took the opportunity to explore and re-live our feati days (not to mention my OSG childhood ;P ne, jollz?). But alas, we found out about Mango Manga much too late. We *did* find a japanese grocery store though :3

4ish-9pm: MALLING. Hah.

The next day was spent in SM for Sarah's birthday, which does not deserve its own entry.
Sunday was spent in Ozine `07, which DOES deserve its own entry, so watch out for that.
Monday, if I can get up early enough and manage to scrape up enough moolah, will be spent on watching the TMNT Movie... so don't count on it.
