This is Foreman. He's quite popular in this blog. This is how he usually is, smiling. This is not how he usually is, holding still. He usually runs about and jumps like a kangaroo when he sees someone he knows. Exception is when he's sleepy; he squeezes himself among the potted plants in the backyard.

27th-Jun-2009 01:12 am - PS FTW
love
[Before I begin, I have to explain the current situation. It is 1:30 AM. Its been a long day. I've been wanting to sleep since lunch but couldn't even nap because there was so much stuff to do. So the sudden impulse to blog? The result is completely nonsensical, but I hope you'll still read this through.]

Oh noes. I think I'm in love.

As a loyal fan of Corel's Paint Shop Pro (PSP), I was apprehensive about trying this so called Photoshop (PS) by Adobe. Because in my world, PSP came first, and PS was nothing more but a more expensive wannabe.

Back when I first jumped into the image editing bandwagon, PSP wasn't even owned by Corel yet. I started with the 7th ed; I think they're currently at the 12th. I'm not sure, I stopped at 10.

I felt old school. Stick to my guns and all that.

In recent years however (particularly when the CS series came out), I started hearing words like 'monochromatic contrast", "batch processing" and "actions" from PS users. Words totally foreign but intriguing.

So I researched... and liked what I read.

Then Leanne let me borrow her CS3 installer today.

AND OMFG I THINK I'M IN LOVE.

I'm sorry PSP, but you have just been served.

Now if anyone could teach me what's PS's equivalent for PSP's jpeg optimization, I think I'll be able to handle myself.

...And oh gawd I can't believe my first post in weeks is how much I adore Photoshop.
15th-Jun-2009 06:45 pm - Passing Cars
VIP
I was waiting for our driver to pick me up. Every time a car would turn the corner, I'd check to see if it was him. He was already half an hour late.

"No, no, not quite, no, looks similar but no, no, no..."

Ah, mass-manufacturing.

But even then, I could immediately tell they weren't ours. It took far longer to realize how I could tell the difference though.

The position of the antenna, how fast the car turned the corner, which lane it drove in... these were some I came up with, for some I still don't know how.

This annoyed me. Not the fact that I didn't know how; It was:

"I wish I didn't know my car this well. Then at least I'd have hope."

Hope.Crushed.Hope.Crushed.Hope.Crushed... with each passing car. Yeah, I think that's better than waiting knowing everything that passes is wrong.

Then I realized how my line of thought was easy bait for metaphors, and consequently felt sheepish. I'd still prefer the former, if the topic was life and not cars.
9th-May-2009 09:08 pm - Sports. I hate it.
love
I've been feeling uninspired recently. Since I graduated, I have been cooped up in my house doing nothing. So okay I've started giving my sister geometry lessons--for a fee!--but that's not very inspiring. I think that's partly why this blog has been so neglected. It's been a while since plant design ended so I no longer have that excuse, and a LOT has happened since the last time I wrote in so I do have material to write with.

I've just been lazy I think.

I've been so lazy that the simple act of uploading pictures has become such a chore; so sorry, those pictures from Cebu, graduation and the graduation bash will have to wait some more.

But something really inspired me today, and every time I think about it I just LOL.

I went to cheer my brother on in his soccer tournament.

The place was hot and humid, there was lots and lots of sweat, then it rained, which of course led to a lot of mud, and of course, everyone was STINKY.

All of which I hate, hate, hate. This is why I don't do sports, okay?

But there were TONS of kids. Smiling, laughing, tossing the ball around. But most importantly, they were having fun. So yea, lots of fuzzy feelings today. Which made me think that given the chance, I'd so end up as one of those soccer moms who drives around in an SUV.

Oh wait, I already have the SUV part covered.

double-headed
Let the pictures do the talking, because somebody just pissed me off. Bah, stupid people.

These pictures don't add up to a thousand words, but they'll do. )
